As a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who has been in practice for over twenty years, I consider it the highest honor to have earned the esteem of my colleagues and patients, whom I value tremendously. Many referring dermatologists count on me not only for the removal of skin cancers using the Mohs technique but also for the excellent cosmetic results derived from my post–Mohs surgery reconstructions. Those dermatologists, as well as their patients, also appreciate that both procedures are done in our office, under local anesthesia, on the same day.

The Mohs procedure is the most effective procedure for removing skin cancer and involves precisely removing the cancer in its totality while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. After the cancerous tissue is completely removed, I take into account the size of the defect, the patient’s needs and expectations, and potential reconstructive techniques. Only then do I carefully reconstruct the defect, placing sutures as necessary, and send each patient on their way with post-care instructions.

Without question, I love the creativity of my job and the great patients I encounter every day. Every Mohs case is unique, and I pride myself on my ability to meticulously reconstruct each defect so that in most cases it is barely discernible. My goal is to always put patients at ease and for them to have a positive experience from start to finish. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing patients at their three-month follow-up appointment who are thrilled with their surgical results.
