Because the ability to walk is something people may take for granted, there is no greater reward in my job than helping patients regain that ability. As a pediatric and adult foot and ankle surgeon in practice for over eighteen years, I’ve established myself as a leader in the field. I was the first chief resident to complete the reconstructive foot and ankle residency program at Morristown Medical Center. I currently serve as founder and director of the first and only Pediatric Foot & Ankle Fellowship in the country, a program of the Pediatric Orthopedic Center. I train other surgeons on techniques, including minimally invasive surgery of the foot and ankle, ankle and small joint arthroscopy, and adult and pediatric bunion surgery. As an industry leader, I lecture and consult on those topics across the country and participate in research and development projects. I have also been invited to serve as a faculty member at the prestigious Baltimore Limb Deformity Course.
Other areas I focus on include conservative and surgical management of acute, chronic ankle sprains and their associated issues; pediatric limb deformity correction (clubfoot, limb length inequality and discrepancy, congenital and acquired deformities); and adult and pediatric sports injuries of the foot and ankle, which includes serving as a consultant to the New York Jets.
As a parent of a child with special needs, I am in the unique position of understanding the perspective of the caretaker and the doctor simultaneously. I also have the perspective of a patient, having recovered from multiple sports injuries myself.
