Profile

It is my belief that every child is unique, and I am committed to understanding how their condition or injury impacts their life and their relationships with parents, families, and caregivers. I specialize in treating pediatric athlete injuries, pediatric fractures, hip dysplasia, clubfoot, and other foot and ankle conditions. I have a special interest in neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida. The Pediatric Orthopedic Center’s adolescent sports medicine division uses the most innovative non-operative and minimally invasive surgical techniques available, including arthroscopy, to restore our patients’ health and get them back to the activities they enjoy. My goal is to understand each patient’s individual needs and challenges so that I can provide high-quality, personalized care to get them healthy and back into action as soon as possible. I also make a strong effort to educate young athletes on injury prevention and how to take care of their growing bodies. As a two-time Olympian, representing Team USA at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games in fencing, I can relate to my patients who participate in competitive sports on a very personal level. Having dealt with significant sports injuries myself as a young athlete, I remember the impact of my injuries on my performance, personal life, and career decisions. From that experience, I understand how injuries and surgeries can affect young athletes, physically and emotionally. I am committed to making the journey to recovery as easy as possible for my patients.
